Reading
I can’t believe what i caught Tomas doing on Sunday. He was sitting in his new chair reading. Ok so it was a posed picture but the look on his face is that of someone that got caught doing something he should not be doing. It is a cute shot.
I have a goal for this year to read 12 books. I am a little behind so this is my call out to everyone to try to get me back on track. 4 books to go. I’ll let you know how i’m doing.

A Week on the Road
I have spent the last week traveling. Last Friday Mary Jo and i went down to Medford, OR. On Saturday Mary Jo left with her grandparents, Mom, and Aunt to head to Utah for a week. This was the first (and hopefully only) time we have (will) be apart since getting married. I stayed in Medford till Wednesday. The reason i did not join her in Utah was because of Wednesday morning. I interviewed with Providence Medford Medical Center. This is almost the ideal job. Good opportunity for advancement. Great health plan. I’ve worked there before so i know i like the job and work environment. It is back in Medford. This used to be a down side. Since most of my concert days are behind me that is not as much of an issue.
I took off from Medford after my interview heading to my sister’s in Eugene. I spent the night there. I did not head all the way home because i had an interview in Condon, OR Thursday. I got up early and drove the 5 hours to Condon. The town is smaller than i was expecting for a small town. The doctor comes to town once a week (to give you an idea of the size). The interview went real well. After it i drove to Biggs for lunch. From here i drove back to Lacey. 9-10 hours on the road is a long day. I’m now home and Mary Jo does not get back until Sunday. It will continue to be a long week and long days till she gets home safe.

Camping
Memorial Day weekend camping is a must. For our weekend trip we went camping up past Shelton on the Olympic Peninsula. It was a blast. The trip was part of a church camping trip. There were a number of families from our Ward that went camping at a LDS owned property and we stayed in the cabins. We shared a cabin with 2 other families. The Blume and Allen families. We taught Andy Allen how to play Fluxx. We cooked over a fire and had dutch oven dessert. We threw a sport disc around. I taught Mary Jo, Andy, and someone else how to throw a flick.
On the trip home we stopped for Blizzards at Dairy Queen. Good old DQ. We got home around noon and took naps. Just in time for the Laker game 3. Lakers won a tough game in Denver. Went up 2-1 in the series. Mostly just relaxed the rest of the day. The Laker game was not relaxing. Too close for that. But after the win it was relaxing.
Sunday we went to church and took the day off. Monday Mary Jo did not get up until 10:30. We went to see the movie Night at the Museum : Battle for the Smithsonian. It was good; not as good as the original. Later we watched the Laker game. They just could not get any rhythm going and lost. What a horrible end to the weekend.

The arrow points to Boy Parts
This may seem a strange way to introduce Tomas John Williams to the world. If you feel so go talk to the Ultrasound Technician that said it. Tomas will be Mary Jo and my first child. We both want to have a bigger family. Tomas will hopefully have a younger brothers and sisters and we will teach and prepare him to be a good older brother looking out for his siblings. Mary Jo did express that she does not know what to do with a boy. She is such a loving person that i do not feel she will have any real problems as a mother. While i have previous experience with children (7 nieces and 7 nephews) i know being a father is a completely different ball game. I hope to be a better father than my dad. With my superiority complex how could i not. I hope my grandchildren will have fathers that are better than me. That is just the way of things. But i am getting ahead of myself. So introducing Tomas John Williams.

Spring Break
Spring Break was great. We started by driving to Medford, OR for the weekend. On Monday morning we headed down to California. For lunch we stopped at In-N-Out Burgers. Mary Jo had never been to one before. We stayed in Gridley just north of Sacramento. We relaxed on Tuesday and went to a movie with my Sister's family. We saw Race to Witch Mountain. It was good. Wednesday Mary Jo and i went to San Francisco. We started by going to the Oakland Temple. In San Francisco we went to Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, and Ocean Beach. We even drove across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Thursday we spent in Sacramento. We spent the afternoon in Old Sacramento visiting the shops. We went to dinner at Fanny Ann's. After dinner we went to the Sacramento Temple and performed inititories.
Friday was spent in traveling back to and in Medford. Since we did not leave Gridley until noon we got to Medford just in time for a late lunch. Next Mary Jo and i went to the Medford Temple for an Endowment session. It is such a wonderful blessing to spend time in the Temple with Mary Jo. We then joined my parents for dinner at Silver Dragon. Easily the best Chinese food in the Rogue Valley. We went back to my parents. Mary Jo was heading out to do some laundry and fell down the last step. After she got a blessing we took her to the ER. She sprained her left ankle, broke her right foot, and twisted her right knee. We got back from the hospital around 4:30 am and did not get any sleep. Taking her back home my parents drove us to my sister's home in Eugene and her parents met us there and drove the rest of the way back. This allowed both Mary Jo and me to sleep in the cars.

Spring Break
Now we are making the trip. I am looking forward to the sun and going to In-N-Out Burgers. I don't think In-N-Out has the best burgers in the world but going is always a good experience. Their food is great, better than any other fast food chain i have ever been to. I also am looking forward to taking Mary Jo to a real beach. The beaches in Oregon and Washington are not the same. Sure there is water and sand but the water is cold and nobody wants to play in it for too long. In Washington you go to the beach for a couple hours. In California you can go to the beach for days.
We also want to go to Yosemite National Park. Going is always an enjoyable experience. They are expecting snow on the day we were planning to go. We don't yet know if the weather will be good enough for us to get to do and check out the things we want to go experience. We will wait until Monday or Tuesday to see how the weather will actually fare for us. I hope we get to go.
